So, in general, most role-players prefer other role-players to have realistic names and natural looking clothing choices. This, like everything, is not a hard rule, but for the new player it's a good place to start.
This is especially true in an open world like ESO where RPers are often trolled by people with "cool dude" names and crayon color armor and glowing eyes. So, if you want to get included into RP Scenes, it helps to keep it realistic.
- Pick an ESO Lore name such as one that can be found on these name generator sites.
- Keep your outfit muted.
- Metal should be metal colored: Silver, Copper, Gold, Black.
- Leather should be natural colored: beige, grey, tan, brown, black.
- Cloth can be a wider range of colors, but try for muted colors if you have the dye options.
- As you play more and see more of what others are doing, you can get more creative.
- Note that many of the first dyes you get are very versatile: Soul Shriven Grey, Fighters Guild Red, Mages Guild Blue for example.
- Learn to Walk! If there is just one thing that clearly differentiates RPers from Gamers is the fact that RPers walk and only run when not role-playing or when the role-play specifically calls for it.
