Location Name: Thyrrfjell

Brief Description: Atop a hillside called Thyrrfjell by the locals, meaning "spirit mountain", this secluded spiritual sanctuary is often shrouded in mist. Travelers, warriors, pilgrims, and refugees are bid welcome where shelter, food, blessings, various ceremonial rites, and healing are offered. Pay tribute at the various Shrines dedicated to the Nord totemic pantheon within the Temple, referred to as the Motherhouse, or wander about the tranquil grounds. The sacred barrow encircles a ritual circle, and an ancient stone doorway leads to the hallowed tombs beneath for those brought to the Temple to be interred.

The temple is set as a learning center for clergy, shamans, healers, physicians, herbalist and practitioners of the clever craft and other related magical practices.

Catacombs

Hewn deep within the granite of the mountain an ancient corridor once housed long forgotten departed of another time. Locals make mention the catacombs are what led to the naming of the timeworn butte above. The spirits whisper on the winds that seep through the crevasses. Eons later, atop the grounds, the Temple was constructed.
Temple

Founded decades ago to overlook the sacred grove below and be an ever watchful eye over the hallowed barrow, the Temple was the first building constructed by the pilgrims that settled the area. It has undergone little change since the first stone was laid in the foundation. Ever a bastion of faith to the devout, and a sanctuary to those without hope, the Temple has served selflessly as a sanctum to those in need of spiritual counsel and healing.
Hospital

What was once a simple triage center has gradually grown into a full infirmary to aid the sick and wounded. All manner of medicinal herbs and healing remedies are rendered on site. Healing of both magical and mundane nature takes place whether it be a simple tonic for a rash, the setting of a broken bone, or surgery.
Grove

Since the days before the construction of the Temple, pilgrims had been ascending the mountainside to plant seedlings and saplings of several venerated trees from across the lands in what gradually became a small sacred grove. Over time, Birch, Ash, Blackwood, Aspen, Mahogany, Crabapple, and Juniper have grown among a dense carpet of ferns and runic standing stones next to the barrow. In recent years those of the Skaal faith came to utilize the grove for worship.
