'''Brief Description:''' The northern corner of Skógrvegr lies between the southern gate in the village and the western gate of the Spirit Woods. This thickly forested area is home to the town's lumber mill, the fortified South Gate, and a grain farm, which has earned it the more casual nickname of The Crossroads. The Hofborg Faire operates on the last Friday of each month and features a wide variety of vendors, performers, and curiosities from all corners of Tamriel. On Faire Fredas [Fridays], the crew asks a suggested donation for admission (usually around 5-10 gp). Attendees who donate 15 or more will recieve a tankard good for free refills on Hofborg County ales throughout their visit (self-serve barrels on the main stage). All donations go to the crew and performers that make the Hofborg Faire possible!

On Faire Fredas attendees can sample food and drink at the waterside Wine & Meadery, get their feet wet in the grape stomping tub, and learn a little about the wine and mead-making process. They can browse the shops and wares in the Merchant's Circle, see a show at one of several stages, and view one-of-a-kind curiosities, like the enormous Clockwork Telescope!

;Gate to the Spirit Wood

The Fairegrounds remains open on weekends throughout the month, with a much more limited offering of vendors and merchants (and no admission requested) - an open market of sorts, featuring your more day-to-day market faire and fresh produce from local sources.

:Used more as a thoroughfare than a leisurely stroll through the woods, the turn off for the Spirit Wood is used as a footpath for villagers heading to the Borg via the sacred woods. While most cargo and merchant goods are brought in via the docks in the north, there is still a reasonable amount of cart traffic to keep the roads clear of snow and the street lamps well filled.

If you are a vendor or performer who would like a spot at the Faire, contact the Borgmester for more information. The Fairegrounds is also open to passing merchants who want to sell their wares anytime during the week. Many of these traveling merchants may offer a free bed roll or meal in exchange for light work, so if you're passing through Hofborg and looking for short-term work, the Fairegrounds is a great place to ask around.
;Grain Farm and South Gate

*We are currently interested in finding merchants, tradesmen, performers, provisioners and servers, and fortune tellers. There are multiple claimable tents and merchant stalls available for Faire Fredas or any days in between. Coordinate with the Borgmester, Captain Baene, or the fairegrounds manager Jurgenor (@Cosmere) for any inquiries!

:The origins of this enormous telescope are shrouded in mystery, and it's owner - Wynse Hlaalu - remains tight-lipped about it. His claim is that it came from the fabled Clockwork City, though there are those who refute these claims as fantastical rumors, dubbing the telescope a clever knock-off and nothing more. Word among the Hofborg Fairegrounds crew is that the Hlaalu is not even the rightful owner of the device, that he's merely hiding it away at the Fairegrounds under the pretense of sharing the curious attraction with the denizens of Hofborg County. Whatever it's origins, the telescope is an impressive sight to behold, and Faire attendees can peer through it for an unparalleled glimpse at the northern Tamriel sky. Notable NPCs: Wynse Hlaalu and his servants (male dunmer & various)

Points of Interest

Gate to the Spirit Wood
Crossroads302.png
Used more as a thoroughfare than a leisurely stroll through the woods, the turn off for the Spirit Wood is used as a footpath for villagers heading to the Borg via the sacred woods. While most cargo and merchant goods are brought in via the docks in the north, there is still a reasonable amount of cart traffic to keep the roads clear of snow and the street lamps well filled.
Grain Farm and South Gate
Crossroads303.png
There are enough grain farmers in Hofborg county to justify the use of the old mill in the Village. One of these farms sits within the natural valley of Skógrvegr on the path to the South Gate. Mús, the large white and brown dog guards the farm and waits for the return of his owner, the farmer's younger son who now works at the restored South Gate.
Lumber Mill
Crossroads304.png
At the edge of steady flowing river fed by a tranquil waterfall is the old Limber Mill. Here native harvested timber is processed for the town's Woodcutters and Carpenters. Occasionally, imported wood from neighboring regions passes through the mill to be split and utilized by the local craftsmen and women.
Hunter's Camp
Crossroads305.png
Skógrvegr has enough wild life to offset winter stores with occasional fresh game. Village hunters often look here first before traveling deeper into Western Skyrim. While visitors, uncertain of their welcome in town, make camp here for a night or two.
Buckthorn Trail
Crossroads306.png
While the Crossroads are predominantly comprised of deep snow and tall pines, deeper groves with dense underbrush wind into the valley southwest of the main Forest Road. The path winds past wood and thatch cottages of Buckthorn Trail tucked within glens and glades which is mainly home to wardens, foresters, hunters and other recluses.
Troll Tooth Ledge
Crossroads307.png
As you wind through the Forest Road towards the western edge of the valley, you'll come upon Troll Tooth Ledge, a narrow footpath that passes beside a round tower of earlier times which continues upward more than two miles. The foot path passes smaller Orcish homes eventually leading to an abandoned mountain strong hold.
