House: Old Mistveil Manor
Location Name: Kyne's Keg
Brief Description: Kyne's Keg is Hofborg’s primary watering hole. Locals and travelers alike gather at the rustic hostel for warmth, revelry, brews both local and imported, savory foods, and an occasional game of chance. Frequenting the Inn is Makoac. He is the most outgoing Orc you'll ever meet on this side of Skyrim. There's a rumor that if you buy him a drink, he will fill you in on some town gossip.
Working the cook station, Thorir Rigurtson is an excellent cook who dreams of one day meeting the ambassador, Rigurt the Brash - his hero. While the diminutive mer, “The Fletcher”, is another one of the elusive elves that can be seen around the Inn Kyne's Keg. If you happen to see the Fletcher, ask her about her Boyer skills.
Bards, Skalds, and various entertainers often grace the small stage at the far end of the dining hall, adding to the festive atmosphere. Jorm Enralderson works at Kyne's Keg as a bouncer but considers himself a bit of a Skald. He has a selection of battered but functional instruments available for visitors to the inn for the low price of another horn of mead.
On the upper floor away from the boisterous rabble downstairs is a place to lounge and read. A door opens to an outdoor balcony where one can take relaxation. When the need to sleep overtakes the desire to celebrate, beds for overnight or short terms stay are for rent. Check with the Innkeep for availability of both a bed as well as a stall for your mount in the stable.
Adjacent to the Inn is a bathhouse and sauna available to visitors and town folk alike. Around the side of the Inn is a gated alleyway that leads to a path that takes you to the Wharf Rat on the Brygg-Bottom side of town. It is rumored, however, to be frequented by undesirables, so travel at your own risk.
Max Population: 12
Points of Interest
- Kyne's Keg, Bath House and Sauna
- Along the left hand path of the Kyne's Keg you will pass the well and then turn to a shallow building in the back which offers a beautifully appointed bathhouse and hot sauna. The bathhouse is a place of relaxation where drinks and snacks can be ordered from the kitchen. The cost of a bath with all the trimmings is 2 gold but you'll need to find a friend to wash your back!
- Kyne's Keg, Main Floor
- The main floor of the Kyne's Keg is a warm and inviting space with comfortable well polished wooden furniture, a small stage in the corner and the smells of good food, fresh ale and sweet mead. The inn has a limited menu, in keeping with a small local inn. A few basic dishes are offered each evening along side standard soup, bread and cheese fare.
- Kyne's Keg, Second Floor
- The second floor of the inn offers a few semi-private sleeping spaces complete with warm furs, deep feather beds and plenty of dresser space. The prices for overnight sleeping are steep, but the service is exceptional, you will feel as if you are truly enjoying the hospitality of Skyrim.
- Kyne's Keg, Back Alley
- Through the gate along the right side of the inn is a narrow back alley leading to the Wharf Rat. This alley is regularly occupied by those who can't afford the inn's fancy beds or looking for a quiet place to make a less than legal exchange of goods. Patrons are encouraged to keep their purses close and not to enter the alley after dark.
- Brygg-Bottom is the name for the area of town that currently incorporates The Docks, the Wharf Rat, and Odd's End. This area of town is ran by The Saebjorn Crew. The back alley near Kyne's Keg leads to the Wharf Rat by way of alleyway passages through the back side of Owl Square, and is loosely considered to be part of Brygg-Bottom. Brygg-Bottom operates on an expanded ruleset, please read.
