Points of Interest
- Great Hall Entrance
- File:The Borg Thane's Hall005.png
- Following the path that leads North out of the Spirit Woods you will be entering the Borg where the Great Hall is located. You will be able to recognize the hall because it will be the biggest structure in the town. It has a large mammoth skull hanging above the threshold inviting kin and guests for hospitality. You will be able to hear people laughing and carrying on with the bustle and hustle that is familiar to this little trading port.
- Temple Entrance
- File:The Borg Temple Gate002.png
- Across from the Great Hall on the West side of the path coming from the Borg, you will find the entrance to our Motherhouse. There is a large stone gate at the bottom of a large rock formation at the base of the mountain where the High Temple exists.
- Bakery
- File:The Borg Bakery003.png
- Walking through the town, you will see the Great Hall in the East right after passing a stage platform. In the west, there is the entrance to the Motherhouse at the stone gates embedded within the large rock structure. Moving along the cobblestone path your first stone building will be the bakery. Here we make all our bread and specialize in traditional Nord sweet cakes.
- The Inn, Kyne's Keg
- File:The Borg Kyne's Keg Gate.png
- Nestled between the Temple Entrance and the Bakery is the gate opening to the local Tavern and Inn, The Kyne's Keg. One of the Inn attendants eagerly awaits to greet guests and patrons at the gate with flagon at the ready. Within the Inn one will find further food, drink, and a place to rest one's head after celebrations at the Great Hall wind down.
- Clothier
- Heading North up the path after you pass the Great Hall on your right, you will come to the Clothier Shop. There are scissors and pins with cushions, measuring tapes. A variety of sewing utensils such as needles and colorful threads and yarns are available to those working in the Clothier Shop, as well as an abundance of furs and leathers. If you need your shirt mended, this would be a good place to start.
- Rowan Hills Gate
- File:The Borg Rowan Hills Gate.png
- Just next to the Clothier's Shop is the gate leading east out of the Borg to the Rowan Hills neighborhood. This is a relatively broad lane which is home to most of the larger houses with acreage. While many of the homes feature protective walls, the inhabitants, like the other villagers are likely to retreat to the Great Hall or Motherhouse in times of trouble.
- Carpenter and Blacksmith
- File:The Borg Carpenter Blacksmith01.png
- If you continue along the path, you will see a large stone well, sheltered with a wooden roof. On the West side of the path past the Bakery resides the Carpenter Shop and Blacksmith side by side. Next to the Carpenter Shop lumber of local and imported trees is piled beside the structure under a shingled roof to protect from the weather. You will find an anvil outside the Blacksmith to let you know you are in the right place to get your weapon or armor repaired, or your horses shod when a ferrier is on site. Inside the shops, there are tools and materials available and ready to work with.
- Owl Square Gate
- File:The Borg Owl Sqaure Gate.png
- Just behind the carpenter and blacksmith, a small neighborhood of private shops can be found. Many of them are small but upscale and well cared for. The shops may be completely public or owner-occupied with sleeping accommodations.
- Herbalist and Enchanter
- File:The Borg Apothecary002.png
- The Apothecary Shop is across the street from the Blacksmith. Its wooden grid window panes are painted bright evergreen and are very hard to miss. Inside you will find balanced scales to measure and portion ingredients and jars of reagents regularly stocked from our suppliers and local gatherers. Lingering with the smell of Nirnroot the Apothecary Shop is perfect for those beginning or adept at their craft in alchemy and enchanting.
- Dock and Village Entrance
- File:The Borg Village Docks Gate002.png
- Just past the Apothecary Shop you will find a pair of wooden gates. The gate on the right will take you to the Docks where the scent of sea air will fill your nose and squawking seagulls resonate in your ears. Any import and export of Hofborg is done so at the Docks. The gate on the left will take you to the Village side of town where the more rural and agricultural aspects of town life take place. Additionally Hofborg’s Bunkhouse is a short walk within the Village’s perimeter where the town’s workforce is housed, and the Warehouse where commodities from the Docks are stored.
- Brygg-Bottom is the name for the area of town that currently incorporates The Docks, the Wharf Rat, and Odd's End. This area of town is ran by The Saebjorn Crew. The back alley near Kyne's Keg leads to the Wharf Rat by way of alleyway passages through the back side of Owl Square, and is loosely considered to be part of Brygg-Bottom. Brygg-Bottom operates on an expanded ruleset, please read.
